W. (Eddie) Wirt has served as NABCA’s Senior Vice President/Chief Financial Officer since November 2021. In this role, Wirt helps to align the association’s financial resources with strategic objectives and oversee the finance, meetings and administration departments. Wirt’s career in the beverage alcohol industry began in 2001 when he worked in various capacities within research, planning and policy analysis with the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC). Wirt left ABC in 2006 to serve as Deputy Director of Business Research at the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles and returned to Virginia ABC in 2009 to oversee the research & planning and education & prevention divisions. Four years later, Wirt was named Chief Communications and Research Officer, overseeing additional divisions of Communications and Digital & Web. From 2013 to 2021, Wirt was also responsible for strategic planning and agency-wide performance measures, and was a member of the portfolio steering, real estate and product management committees. Wirt’s academic accomplishments include an undergraduate degree in marketing and business law and a technology-focused MBA, both from Virginia Commonwealth University. Wirt has also attended both the Virginia Executive Institute and Commonwealth Management Institute at Virginia Commonwealth University. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, practicing martial arts, and playing golf. Wirt is a Richmond, Virginia native and has spent most of his career working in the Richmond area.
